Late Arrivals

Students must be in class by 7:30am.  Classroom instruction begins promptly at 7:30.  Students must be in class, seated and ready for instruction to begin at 7:30.  If students are not in class when the tardy bell rings at 7:30am, they will need to report to the office and obtain a class admittance slip. If your child is late, please provide a note explaining the reason. Students who are tardy will make up lost instruction time during recess. After 4 tardies, students will be assigned detention.

VISITORS

All visitors, parents and guardians must sign in at the office.  This is for your child’s safety.  Please do not go to your child’s classroom unless you have first signed in and then been instructed to do so by the office staff.  Visitors who would like to have lunch with their child are asked to notify the school before 8:15am.

Attendance Policy

All students will attend school each day that school is in session.  Any student who is absent must provide a written excuse to the school within 3 days for the absence.  If not, the absence will be considered unexcused.  The following are considered excused absences:

  • Medical/dental appointment verified by physician’s excuse
  • Illness or injury verified by parent: Illness verified by parent can not exceed 3 days in a row.  Only 5 parent notes per semester can be accepted as excused absences.  After 5 parent excuses, absences will be considered unexcused.
  • Death in immediate family (limited to 3 consecutive days)
